The Projector Station [revision 7]

The new Projector Station design is finalized and the first of these new units went into production in July 2011. It will be revised from time to time to ensure it remains compatible with the latest projectors. Unlike the earlier versions made from plastic [which tended to flex under load], this product is made from 6mm aluminum plate, anodized black [custom colours are available] and it will not bend. The Projector Station can be shelf mounted or ceiling mounted.

Whilst the design is basically the same, there are some refinements that make this new version better. One of the changes is that all projectors will be centered and the mount for the anamorphic lens can be re-positioned to cater for projectors with offset lenses. Of course cable management and thread adjusted leveling will remain as standard.

The 5 slots across the front are to allow for a new Slide [pictured below] to be attached. Because I choose to leave the lens in the light path all the time, I have attached my Anamorphic Lens with a single bolt through the centre slot but will be adding a Slide soon for the purposes of demonstrating the optic magnification of the Aussiemorphic Lens.

Shelf Mounted

I've installed a Projector Station in my demo room which is being used with the BenQ W6000 and Aussiemorphic Lens MK5. This installation is a shelf mount. The main plate holds the Aussiemorphic Lens MK5 and the projector mounts to the second plate. The assembly is the same for inverted or ceiling mounting.

Ceiling Mounted

If inverted, a spacer plate [not supplied] is needed between the main plate and the ceiling. In this install, I've used two pieces of 70mm x 35mm pine. The 35mm thickness gives enough room to allow the legs to be adjusted and gives the illusion that the Projector Station is floating off the ceiling.

Telescopic Legs

The 3 point thread adjustment system is simple to set up and unlike many mounts that use a ball and socket, will not move until you move it. The Projector Station is designed to remain stable even when when the Anamorphic Lens is moved out of the light path on a slide. All supplied hardware is 306 Stainless Steel. 

The latest inclusion is a set of telescopic legs.If you don't like the idea of seeing thread from the bolts, these telescopic legs will be of interest. 

The Projector Station is currently compatible with over 30 different projectors. As more projectors are added, some of the holes have become slots. The list of compatible projectors will grow as I obtain their technical data.
